First, this is composed of three or four teams. Second, each person of one team throws four sticks on the blanket. After player throws four sticks, if one of four sticks is underside, it is named ”Do” and the marker moves one step on the board. The “Do” expresses a pig as animal. If two of four sticks is underside, it is named ”Gae” and the marker moves two step on the board. The “Gae” expresses a dog as animal. If three of four sticks is underside, it is named ”Gul” and the marker moves three step on the board. The “Gul” expresses a sheep as animal. If four of four sticks is underside, it is named ”Yut” and the marker moves four step on the board. The “Yut” expresses a cow as animal. If four of four sticks is upside, it is named ”Mo” and the marker moves five step on the board. The “Mo” expresses a horse as animal. Players go round a board with several of markers as this method. When one team go round all of markers, the team win. Third, the board has several of purnishments. This adds a joy of this game.

There are many traditional games in my country. Most people like to play games. In particular, I like to play “Nelddugi”, “Jagichagi”, “kite flying and Yut”. One of the most traditional game is Yut game that can be played anywhere. It’s especially popular on New Year’s day. It is customary to play this game from New Year’s day until January 15 called “Dae borum.”

However, I will explain about Yut game. First, the method to play Yut. One can find the following name : Do, Gye, Geol, Yut and Mo. “Do” means ‘pig’, “Gye” means ‘dog’, and “Geol” means ‘sheep’, “Yut” means ‘cow’, and “Mo” is ‘horse’. The reason that they have these meanings might be because they were a big part of their assets and in a very close relationship with them in their daily lives. That’s how the weight and the pace of those animals are reflected in this Yut game. Regarding the weight, we can observe that a sheep is bigger than a dog, a cow is bigger than a sheep and a horse is bigger than a cow. One step of a horse is equivalent to five steps of a pig. Second, Yut game has 4 sticks. If one of the stick is upside down, it is called “Do”. Two sticks are upside down, it’s called “Gye”, three sticks: “Geol”. It all of them are upside down, it’s called “Yut”. If all four are faced down, it’s called “Mo”. “Do” will advance 1 space, “Gye” does 2spaces, “Geol” does 3 spaces, “Yut” does 4spaces and “Mo” does 5 space.
